I really like the art, the music and atmosphere, theme, etc.!
I'm less excited about it being another one of those games where you hover the mouse over stuff to 'attack.' There seem to be a million of these, and I've never found one of them especially enjoyable. Maybe that's just me and everyone else loves them? I appreciate that it at least has the bats and minions and all that so I don't have to mouse-hover too much.
But my overall take is that the art deserves a better underlying game design to go with it. Because I'd definitely enjoying looking at it for an extended time if it was some kind of longer play incremental/idle type game with upgrades, or whatever else
Hey I really appreciate your feedback! I was thinking that we should lean more into the theme and unique abilities for the Steam version, and your comment seems to agree with that.
Haha now my girlfriend is teasing me that her art beat my gameplay :)
Haha well it is very nice art, so it does stand out when so many games have generic looking stuff. If it was me (and again, maybe everyone else loves this style of game - and also, I'm just a player and not a game designer) - I'd definitely lean more into the theme and unique abilities even if the hover-attack thing remains. I really liked the idea of "The knights are coming!" at the demo end. Personally, I'd ditch the "Your timer ran out!" model for ending rounds and actually make some villagers/knights/other enemies come and attack so the vamp has to go hide. That would open the door to new defensive type upgrades - your minions can fight to protect you, but maybe also some entirely new defense ones, etc. Maybe even add a new scene - the interior of the vamp's crypt, with some slow-running time-based currency with a second upgrade system to unlock features, strengthen existing features, something like that.
I'd probably buy it on Steam either way, but I'd pay more if it was like that :D
Great suggestions! The idea of humans attacking you was there from the start, and also my gf wants to make visual upgrades to the crypt, so your idea of defensive type upgrades could fit really well into that!
We cut everything out for this short demo, just in case nobody played the game lol, but yeah I will definitely prototype and test all these ideas!
Bro is only willing to go out one step from his crypt each night. What a lazy vamp. I like that all the animal have there own skeleton and the upgrade also look cool, not just simple generic art. Shows that you care. I think the theming is really good. i found the curse kinda awkward to use. I generally like some skill expression in my incremental games but the enemies die to quick to really make use of it. Maybe its just a demo problem or because I upgrade it last. But really cool game. I like it.

Lol! we could make an upgrade to the crypt, so you get a Balcony and don't even need to go out :)
My girlfriend did all the art, and she is really happy with your comment!
I agree about the curse having problems right now, I'm glad you pointed it out! Thanks for the awesome feedback! we are going to work on that.
No Vampy you cant sleep all day and then eat all night without moving. Your gonna have the build of a Victorian child.
Good short game. I enjoyed it. Thank you for making the game.
nono, thank you so much for playing! :)
good game, reminds me of castlevania
thanks! we like vampire's theme :D
On the one hand another nodebuster. On the other hand, it's got nice style and storytelling. Keep it going, I'd be interested to see more!
That's good feedback thanks!
Maybe focus more heavily on the vampire theme.
